As everyone knows, reviewing a product like this is totally subjective. I really did not enjoy this offering from Jillian, and as a huge fan, am a little disappointed.
I just feel that the workouts were way too gimmicky compared to her previous DVDs. This is littered with compound exercises - a JM trademark - and I'm all for working multiple muscle groups at once to save time.....but it just seemed that JM had unnecessarily made these workouts 98% multiple compound exercises for the sake of it. There didn't seem any point to having complicated moves one-after-the-other; creating really bizarre combinations of moves; no rhyme-or-reason over the sequencing of the circuits and the transitioning is a bit haphazard. Plus, I'm certainly no expert, but I'm sure that some of the circuits are a dangerous combination of compound moves and are bound to strain joints or muscles unnecessarily.
I'm not saying that it's a pointless workout - definitely not as challenging as her previous DVDs, but still gets the heart rate up to a pleasing enough point. I'm just saying that, personally for me, I didn't enjoy it as I didn't find it engaging at all, overly challenging or that there was a point to spending 45 mins on this.
