I bought this thru Amazon UK, since the price with the conversion rate (EU to USD) plus shipping was better than any other price I'd seen. With this purchase, I now have each version of the cd releases of The Turtles' catalog from Sundazed & Repertoire. I haven't compared them head to head to gauge sound quality, but the music here is timeless and I'm glad to have this gem in my collection. Cheers to everyone at Amazon UK!

If you're into sunshine-pop. This record is "a must have"!
This is "Smile"(Beach Boys) vs. "Eight miles high"(Byrds).
This is one of the best albums of the 60s.

What a nice surprise this album is. I've always loved the title track, in spite of it being one of the most overly familiar songs out there. However many films and rubbish adverts it has been in, it's hard to deny it's infectious hooks. I bought the cd out of curiosity, not expecting much and it's a belter! Go the Turtles!

Sounding so good remastered on CD! 7 Oct. 2004
By E. D. Kayser - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Is this the only Turtles CD you need? Probably so. It's the only one I need. It's got all the best songs, the remastered sound is excellent, and the liner notes and packaging are top-notch. Everybody and their mother knows the smash hit "Happy Together" and most people know at least half a dozen of these other songs even if they don't know they're all by The Turtles. All the essentials are here: the four "me" songs: Let It Be Me, It Ain't Me Babe, She'd Rather Be With Me, and You Showed Me plus the four "you" songs: You Know What I Mean, You Baby, You Don't Have To Walk In The Rain, Can I Get To Know You Better. And then there's the "me and you" song, or should I say the "imagine me and you" song...

If you're a fan of sixties pop you need a Turtles CD in your collection. This one.

The Best Sounding Turtles CD by far 7 Feb. 2005
By Herman Noone - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I bought this CD just for the newly remastered sound. Though I have the "20 Greatest Hits" released by Rhino Records but the sound quality of that isn't quite "clear". Now, released by Shout Factory with the newly remastered sound, the sound is "Crystal Clear". One thing I don't like is that they put only 14 tracks on it.

Good collection, but... 19 Oct. 2006
By T. LeBaron - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
A better buy for a single disc Turtles hits collection is the 20-track Greatest Hits on Rhino. Every track on this one is included on that one plus six more, and the price is comparable. This isn't bad, but that one's got a little more for roughly the same price. Good tunes throughout!

The BEST non-Beatles album of the sixties!! 20 Oct. 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This is simply the most classic sixties album by a group other than the Beatles. I grew up with this album. Every song on this CD is memorable and hearing them again -- minus the scratches from my worn-out vinyl copy -- is like hearing from a long-lost friend. THIS IS THE BEST TURTLES ALBUM EVER! Fun tunes like "Makin' My Mind Up" and the novelty "The Walking Song" plus movie theme "Guide For the Married Man" are great songs which round out the entire album. The dreamy "I Think I'll Run Away" is my favorite. "Me About You" will stick in your mind for days and leave you with a smile. The CLASSIC Turtles songs "Happy Together" and "She'd Rather Be With Me" are the end pieces which make this THE Turtles album to have in any collection! Rhino for years said they would release this album but never did. Thank you Sundazed for finally getting this masterpiece out. The Greatest Hits CD's didn't do the Turtles justice. This album must be heard in its entirety by any new or old-timer Turtles fan. One other note: Bill Inglot, who mastered many of Rhino's better releases worked on this re-release. For that one reason alone, you can be assured that the sonics of this CD will be impeccable!

Great songwriting, extraordinary vocal harmonies. 7 Nov. 2002
By "simnia" - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
With the bonus tracks added in, I'd say this is the best Turtles album one can get, short of a greatest hits album. By far my two favorite Turtles songs are "Happy Together" and "She's My Girl," both with extraordinary vocal harmonies and great chord progressions, and they're both on this album. All songs on this CD are decent at worst, great at best. Some other charted songs from this CD are "She'd Rather Be With Me," "You Know What I Mean," and "Me About You." Personally I never cared for the hit "She'd Rather Be With Me," probably since there's nothing that sounds like a chorus, only a wandering bridge that takes up the majority of the song. I remember hearing the pleasant love song "Me About You" for the first time on the radio in early 1969, despite "Happy Together" having been released in 1967. "Makin' My Mind Up" is a fast-paced, good-sounding, positive song in lighthearted '60s style. "Rugs Of Woods And Flowers" is a humorous, sarcastic love song with an affected voice, though I've yet to figure out exactly what is being lampooned. I believe the inspiring "You Know What I Mean" was on one of the Turtles' greatest hits albums.
