5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for all tangoers 2 Nov 2010
Format:Paperback
Being a complete tango junkie, this book was more exciting than my most exciting crime thriller; just couldn't put it down and was so disappointed when it came to an end. No stone has been left unturned regarding the "must knows" of tango in BA which I had very little knowledge of the first time I visited. Even after much research since my last trip, nothing measures up to this book. There's also a facebook page with updates you can scribble into your copy of Happy Tango so it never goes out of date. What a star you are Sal! Looking forward to my next trip with far more confidence now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy Tango 28 Mar 2011
By Fiona
Format:Paperback
Happy Tango made such a difference to my dancing experience in Buenos Aires - I particularly got a lot out of understanding the different dance scenes there ie tourist-circuit, traditional and informal. Sally encourages you to find the venues where you feel most comfortable, to find your "tango home" and this helped me a lot in deciding where to go in the evening. She gives suggestions on where the best milongas are each evening. The book is just packed with useful tips, not only about the milongas but also about where to buy clothes and shoes and types of accommodation, dance classes and language schools, as well as lots of other information that only someone who's lived there would know. My time in Buenos Aires was greatly enhanced by having Sally's book in my backpack at all times, an indispensable tango dance guidebook of Buenos Aires.

5.0 out of 5 stars A tango companion 20 Aug 2010
By Ruth B
Format:Paperback
I consumed the book in one airplane flight, it transported me back to Buenos Aires. The tone is accessible, conversational and informative about the very things you want to know about. I wish I'd had it when I went to Buenos Aires for the first time, but it will prove useful for returning tangueros also. The intricacies of protocol, like the cabeceo, are brought to life with some good, practical tips. What comes across most of all is Sally's enormous affection for her adopted home. She writes from the heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining and Useful
Not only did the book prove a useful tool for our tango stay in Buenos Aires - even though it was our third visit - it was also a well-written and entertaining read.
