5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun: Original Sci-fi Rom Com 17 Nov 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This is one crazy book! Aliens, capitalists, diplomats, ghosts, resurrections, sex, sharks, junk food, a hamster and (as promised) lots of clams... Ms.Kimberling's book consistently put a smile on my face. The imagination, colourful characters and extremely well written delivery drew me in from the opening pages and I enjoyed it right through to the final sentence. I loved it. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy indeed 5 Sep 2010

Frankly I just loved it. Is it the best written book in the world? No, but it had real charm and great characters and true aliens. I loved Wave, and the whole new world that Kimberling has created. I enjoyed spending time with Gaia and her Happy Snak world, oblivious and yet now central to the entire alien human detente, and I love how she indirectly influences the entire world of the Kishocha. Great way to spend a few hours, and I made the mistake of down loading it at 11.30 and then blinking at 2 am and thinking, I have to finish this in the morning! It's a proper length novel, not a novella that you just gulp down. I rate it a keeper and a reread.

The ending, while complete, was also open ended enough that we could visit this world again, and I sincerely hope we do!

4.0 out of 5 stars Real Science Fiction 3 Sep 2010
By Diane - Published on Amazon.com

Gaia puts everything she has into getting a Happy Snak franchise on a new space station. Like all new business owners, she devotes her whole life to it. Her motto is that everyone deserves to be able to buy an economical, tasty snack of their choice. She goes in to work early one morning and comes upon one of the elusive aliens and he's dying. Now the story gets good with the whole first encounter, difference in societies, learning about life ,love and friendship bits from all the old Sci-Fi classics but told in the authors own way. I really enjoyed this book. It was fun and it gave me something to think about. I would like to know what happens next to these characters.
5.0 out of 5 stars Reminiscent of "The True Meaning of Smekday" 7 May 2013

Loved this story of an odd human, an outsider, who inadvertently becomes the ambassador and protector of the quirky alien species. Great dialogue. Made me laugh. Another to add to my shelf of "favorites."
