My 4 and 6 year olds love this book and get it out the library again and again. It's about a hippo who doesnt want to be a hippo anymore because Hippo's are boring. There's a little ditty throughout the book along the lines of "I don't want to be a hippo, no, no, no, rather be a zebra or a buffa-luffa-lo. Rather be that monkey, swinging in his tree, rather be a monkey than a hippo like me." But when he tries to be that monkey he discovers it's not quite that easy. He ends up saving the life of a young wildebeest who thinks Hippo is very very brave and wishes he could swim and dive and wallow like the hippo. Hippo decides that he is happy to be a hippo after all and returns home happy to his herd. A good book for any child, particularly those whom are not quite happy with the way they are.
