'Compulsively addictive' Elle"Another gloriously girlie read from Parks' Heat'

Product Description
Lisa is forty-two, divorced and a mum of three. For the past year, Lisa has been going out with Mark, who is five years younger than her. Lisa really likes him but she worries that one day he will leave - just like her ex-husband did. On top of everything else, Lisa feels really tired and moody, and has put on weight. She thinks it's the menopause but could there be another reason for how she's feeling? Lisa's life is about to change in a big way but does she want Mark by her side? Does he even want to be there? With the help of her family and friends, Lisa starts to believe that a second chance of love and happiness might just be possible.

3.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says on the tin, 14 Jul 2008
By Bookwormjo (London) - See all my reviews

Adele Parks, one of the UK's most respected and prolific writers of popular womens' fiction has penned a 'quick read' book which aims to get the nation reading by providing a short, snappy novel. Therefore, it was never aiming to be War and Peace, but I did find the large font and narrative rather akin to a child's book.

Fair play to Parks, the story which centres around divorcee Lisa and her young family zips along at a cracking pace. The characterisation is somewhat flat though and I kept wanting to give the main character a good talking to at some points, but otherwise I'm sure that the subject matter will be familiar to the majority of female readers.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible, 24 Aug 2008
Wish I hadn't wasted my money, will never buy any of her books again - awful, awful, awful. Worst bit- too babyish should have been for 9 year olds, also terribly predicatable. Only liked one page in whole book. Marian Keyes is so much better, have read lots of short and long stories by her and never disappoint! esp. Further Under the duvet! Her new one also Fab!
