What a wonderful, fun movie! I found it by chance in the library because they were having a 3 for price of 2 offer and I hunted for a 3rd DVD.

Two weddings take place on the same day, and the receptions are at the same hotel, but the hotel has double-booked. They manage to fit both the events in. Then Sally Hawkins' character has a fateful encounter with the other marriage's new husband, and the result is absolute mayhem due to persistent and wonderful very Irish-humour misunderstandings. Hawkins' character's clever, wilfully interfering young daughter has her own agenda and adds to the chaos. Many things aren't what they seem and I was completely fooled by one of the tricks. It's real laugh out loud over and over and manic events ensue and yet it's not silly-funny farce, it's all very believable, it really could happen if......

Anyone who adores Father Ted will recognise the type of humour and don't we Brits all love this humour too!

I shall be buying this one! Irresistible and eminently rewatchable and just the kind of movie to watch with visitors wanting a quiet evening.... "Have you see this one?" Probably they haven't since it doesn't have any other reviews so far here...... You can start laughing even before they start watching, knowing how they'll soon be falling about!

This one should have had rave reviews. Where are they?

Comedy at it's best like the label say's makes you laugh out loud or it did me,good for a evening in with friends,it's about people who do things because they need the cash and that includes marrying someone who wants to stay in the country to be with his girlfriend, hey he was paying the money, the girl who then finds out that maybe she didn't really want to get married, how to go out in the middle of the wedding make friends with strangers and how to drown your phone in your glass of wine, very funny well worth the the money and time, will put a smile on anyone's face.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. What on earth was Sally Hawkins doing in this turdfest? I hope the filthy lucre was worth it; there has to be some reason she decided to star in something so awful. The script was unbelievably weak, it must have been knocked off on a Sunday afternoon. As for the humour, my school plays were funnier than this and that's saying something. Truly dreadful.

Like a feature version of an 80s sit-com farce. Clichéd, wooden, derivative old-fashioned contrived slapstick. Awful, just awful. Sally Hawkins is so much better than this.

The twin term rom-com and wedding usually fill me with nausea and I tune out. But there is stateside horror and then there is homegrown comedy gems and this fantastically quirky scream of a movie, as clever as it is consistently side-splitting is a major coup for the Irish yet they never seem to catch the audience the Hollywood bores do. Hence there being only one other review of it here, but as an only released movie over here to the shop shelves, there's still time. Writer-director Stephen Burke has concocted a real sharp and sweet movie that merges character-driven comedy with an ever present mist of heartache and unmet expectations over just what marriage is or should be.

Tasty and charming leading man Tom Riley is remarrying his girl, hoping like hell it'll work a second time, while trying to evade his psychotic, beast-like father-in-law but his reception venue collides with Sally Hawkins's determined marriage of financial necessity. Add a couple of agents trying to prove her marriage void so the man can be deported, Tom being throw together with Sally far more than his neurotic and overly jealous wife-again-to-be, plus Sally's deviously and darkly intelligent young daughter forever threatening to throw a wobbly over losing her new 'dad' (his and her relationship is a really sweet surprise in this whirlwind of charming, deliciously unsettling events) and Tom's brassy sister's had enough of her lazy husband and on the point of telling him where to go, plus many other things I won't mention here, and you have the likeliest winner of Comedy of 2009 right here.

Depressing, predictable and not funny. I was hoping it would get better, but it just dragged on and finished on a flat note.

Absolutely worth watching this film and being grateful that your life is not that bad after all. This film is about a girl willing to marry a stranger for money, so that she can hang on to her house and daughter. At the reception venue there is however a confusion between two couples sharing the same venue. The people are funny and the bride's daughter being the funniest. A very sweet movie, with plenty laughs and a twist in the end. Not for people who prefer American humour.
