A Fight Frenzy 24 Sep 2006
This film is terrific! I was enthralled by the fight choreography and was left aching from all the action on display.

From the early seventies, this film is very much a cash in on the success of Bruce Lee's "Fist of Fury", in that the bad guys are Japanese and one scene in particular is near identical to that of Bruce Lee's movie. Another connection with Lee, is that the lead actress Angela Mao is perhaps most famous for playing his ill-fated sister in "Enter The Dragon". Here she is given presidence and really shows her excellent timing and amazing martial arts agility. In this film we also get to see another performer Wang In Sik as a good guy, chiefly he is more famous for his bad guy roles in Bruce Lee's "Way Of The Dragon" and a couple of Jackie Chan movies "Young Master" and "Dragon Lord". Here we get to see Wang desimate a room full of Japanese fighters with ease! Lets not forget of course an early performance by Sammo Hung who would go on to become one of the greatest forces in Hong Kong cinema. I cannot recomend this film highly enough, but please don't expect to see much of Jackie Chan, his role is microscopic; blink and you'll miss him!

Hapkido - the best! 9 Aug 2007
I first saw this film at the cinema in 1974 at the height of kung fu mania and it impressed me more than any other non Bruce Lee martial arts film and it still does. It is wonderful to see this on DVD after all these years. Angela Mao at her finest and Pai Ying is one of the best villains of them all - menacing and sexy at the same time! Lots of other familiar faces and it's action all the way. Highly recommended!

As a film its better than nearly all 70s fung fu flics, great fight scenes with real masters.if you know kung fu movie history and are over 40 then you know who i mean,Wang In Sik(great name)gives a superb performance,he was under used in Way of the dragon and a shame he never got to film his fight in Game of death.Angela Mao plays her roll well and in my veiw she never made another film of this quality which is a shame.Bruce lee was great in Fist of fury but Hapkido in my view is a better film, just!
