We love these! We've had them a year now and they're still a favourite. There are many different ways to play with them e.g threading, making a necklace or caterpillar, sorting by shape, sorting by colour, building towers with them, or using sequencing cards to follow a sequence (red triangle, orange square etc.). They can be used to learn shapes and colours or for imaginary play so they are educational. They're also good quality and going strong despite being thrown/dragged around the room. If anything ever happened to them they would definitely be replaced immediately.

my son's first love affair with blocks 18 Aug. 2013
By Mamma J - Published on Amazon.com
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
My son, now four, started playing with this set of blocks when he was just turning 3. At first I was dissapointed that he didn't lace them as they were meant to be laced - but then I realised that that is the idea of an open-ended toy :) So he spent many, many happy hours stacking them and bashing them over, and pulling the laces along the grooves in our tiled flooring pretending the laces were trains (he has only now at the age of 4 started with lacing, I think stacking is just much more fun for boys!). They are beautiful, appealing blocks and are great quality - no chipping or cracks in ours despite heavy play. I highly recommend for any block collection.

Both my kids love it and fight over everything......eesh. Even if I got two, one would horde all the pieces. I have it only four stars due to some cracks in a few of the blocks.

Wonderful size string alongs! 5 Jun. 2014

As an early learning educator, these are a great addition in my class for preschoolers to use in following sequence. Easy to handle also since string has starter area and beads are great size for toddlers to use also.
A toy that gets played with every day 16 Jan. 2015

I bought this for my almost 2 year old daughter as one of her Christmas presents. Since the box says it's recommended for 3+ year olds, I thought it might be a little advanced for her and would have to be something she grew into. After playing with it just a couple times, she figured it out. It's one of her favorite toys and it gets played with every single day, which I can't say about many of her other toys. I recommend tying one of the beads to the end of the lace to use as a "stopper" so the beads don't fall off as the child is stringing them up. The only bummer is our dog chewed up the plastic tip of one of the laces, so until I can find a replacement, we only have one lace to use.
