Fascinating biography 7 Dec 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
The biography of Hans Christian Andersen by Elias Bredsdorff is a fascinating journey into every relevant detail of the life of the great danish writer. A large part of the book consists of interpretations by Mr. Bredsdorff, but each of them is inteligently supported by what seems to be a thorough and respectful research into Andersen's own writings and those of his friends and critics. Delightful.
Wonderful bedside reading 24 Dec 2009

I'm a big fan of Andersen's fairy tales, and his life makes an excellent subject for a biography--Andersen was a highly unusual man whose life was closely chronicled during his lifetime.
