5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant - a real masterpiece. 19 July 1999
By A Customer
Being somewhat cynical when it comes to 'far-fetched'stories, I was surprised to find myself totally absorbed in this one! Enter the book with an open mind, and the tale works brilliantly, enter cynical, and it still works. Part of the appeal is that throughout the whole story, Tucker, the main character, is constantly saying to himself how ridiculous his situation is. He himself doesn't beleive in what is happening, which makes it easier to get into and read without needing to worry about it being unrealistic. The story is well written, simple and effective. The characters are likeable, if somewhat strange, and they interconnect to bring about a great combination of normality mixed with the absurd and bizarre. Eidson's best work yet - Read It!

5.0 out of 5 stars A truly great novel 19 Aug 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I'd like to add my voice to others who have praised this novel. It is certainly Eidson's best, but is something more than that. It deserves to become a classic. I have read few novels with its range and power. It doesn't matter whether you're a believer or not, as is the case with his other stories. Hannah Morgan is one of those fictional characters who rises above the fiction to become almost real. Amusingly, the two dogs, Jack and Martha are among the finest characters in the book, and probably the best animal characters in fiction. Whatever else you're reading at the moment, stop it and order this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Eidson Novel 31 Jan 2011
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
After St Agnes Stand and The Last Ride both of which I read years ago I appraoched this with some trepidation. I loved both of these novels, but could not finish All God's Children. I shoudl not have worried - fast paced, well written and thoroughly enjoyable. I only the reason that I did not gve this 5 stars is that it did not equal The Last Ride - a truly wonderful novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Definately one to read. 2 Jun 2008
This story focuses on many different emotions and draws the reader into the plot. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down, who is this woman, what does she want and how can she do all this, surely there is no such things as miracles, were all the thoughts running through my mind. If you want a story to be able to reflect upon, somthing to help you grow as a human or maybe you are looking to be inspired this is definately a book for you.
