Hannah and Rachel grew up as little girls in the same small Midwest town, where traditional gender expectations eventually challenge their deep love for one another. Hannah becomes an adventurous, unapologetic lesbian and Rachel a strong but quiet homemaker. Weaving back and forth between past and present, the film reveals how the women maintained their love affair despite a marriage, a world war, infidelities, and family denial.

Sometimes you buy a movie because its lesbian and its usually rubbish, this however is not ! This is one of the best lesbian movies I have seen. It brought tears to my eyes several times it was well made, shot and acted I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this movie to anyone who wants to watch an amazing love story. Would recommend to all gay or straight.
If nothing else you get to see the awesome Sharon Gless kiss a woman ! Yay !!!

A superbly written, brilliantly cast and excelently produced film. It shows the story of these '2 ageing ladies' with brilliant touches of their earlier life as well as the challenges of family views. Loved it...will watch again.

This has to be up there with the likes of Claire of the Moon. The story is touching, funny in places (Sharon Gless is a marvelous actress),and I cried buckets at the end, just the thought of spending your loves final moments with them. A true classic and one I will watch again and again.

sharon gless movie.
I am a HUGE fan of Sharon Gless, bit i did not enjoy this film at all. i felt it was a bit drawn out, and as all we saw of Miss Gless was in a hospital bed, it was a little boring. Read more

Fantastic
One of the best movies i have seen in ages...Sharon gless plays an absoulte pearler of a part and had me intears by the end..very good film one i watch time and time again.

Boring Stupidity!
I stayed with the film for about 25 minutes until I could stand it no longer. A load of boring stupidity. Can't believe this was made into a film!
