...just buy it, or at least that's my suggestion, as a fan of the film since first discovering it via UK VHS, titled 'Beyond the Living Dead'. Alas, the tape contained a cut version, but the gorgeous print quality and atmospheric tale persuaded me not to give up. Several versions later, here we are with, on balance, the best yet. The print's very acceptable and doesn't detract from enjoyment; extra features are cheaply-made but of interest. The additional film on the disc is also of good quality and a fine little ghost story in its own right.
While fans of Spanish horror in particular won't need persuasion, there's plenty here for others, too: zombies in a strange old village, a gravedigger with peculiar proclivities, storms, occult dabblings and a few flashes of unclothed flesh to offset the grim proceedings.
Is there a BD edition on the horizon? Doubtful, but until then, this one will easily suffice.
