Oh Dear 14 Aug 2010
By botty
Format:Paperback
I ordered this book based on the fact that the one I wanted was out of stock ,however when it arrived it was no more than 64 pages of information and photographs that quite frankly were awful. To start with it does say that it is full of 68 of the most common coral reef fishes which i ommited to see in the description however some of the most popular coral reef fishes you are ever to find arent even in the book,Blue Surgeonfish,White tip reef shark,Rays ,Damselfish etc etc and to make things worse i ordered two by mistake if anyone needs a book on tropical reef fish as a handy pocket guide avoid this at all costs but if you want to take a chance I will gladly give you mine

Small but good book 19 July 2011
Format:Paperback
This handy book is nowhere near a complete review of all the tropical coral reef fish in the world. However, it is good for beginners and light travellers, because it mentions all the important fish types without being too detailed. Furthermore the author is very knowledgeable and a good writer, so the book is very interesting reading. I recommend it.

Great Help! 12 Aug 2009
By E. Cousins - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
PLEASE NOTE THAT MY MENTION OF THE GA AQUARIUM FACILITY DOES NOT TRANSLATE IN THE AQUARIUM ENDORSEMENT OF ANY ITEM I MIGHT REFER TO IN MY REVIEW!
I am a volunteer at the GA Aquarium and I found this book while on the look out for something quick and easy to refer to while reviewing my fish identification skills. I use this book all the time when I browse around the aquarium and or I have a quick guest question. I didn't give it 5 stars because I wished it included more species and allowed me to make it my main go to quick-guide.

My all time favorite so far is "Coral Reef Fishes: Indo-Pacific and Caribbean" by Ewald Lieske and Robert Myers.
I especially like the fact that it provides the fish silouettes by family: this helps me quite a bit as it allows me to narrow down to a family when I am confused :)
Enjoy!
Tiny overview of the most important coral fishes 15 Oct 2010

If you're looking for a comprehensive book on coral reef fishes, this is not a book for you. For beginners, kids, as a quick reminder after a dive - this is very useful.

Great little guide! 16 Dec 2008
By Emily Reese - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book was exactly what I hoped for -- small and simple to take on a tropical vacation where we want a handy guide to identify fish we see.
