Very well laid out with a lot of description about why a knot is tied in such a way, plus the history and organization of various methods. More than a catalogue of knots, or encyclopedia of obscure lashings or art knots. I have other books of knot tying, but this fills a spot for those with little time and who would like to get a broad, thorough foundation in this hobby. It is a beginners book, but useful. This caught my eye on the way out of a B&N, because of it's packaging with cords of various widths with which to practice. There are references for various useful websites in the back, after a glossary, to take my skills further. At the current price, I feel as if I came away the better for the bargain. Glad I saw this.
