Review

...a valuable tool for students working towards their qualification.

This would be an invaluable addition to the bookshelf of students and new therapists, with plenty of interesting information for more experienced therapists. (Footnotes )

...excellent visual aids both photographic and drawn. The content is suitable for all levels as an essential study aid. It is also a comprehensive reference book for the practising reflexologist to have on the bookshelf. A great example of delivering excellence in reflexology. (Reflexions )

...a comprehensive guide...

The author has given the most in-depth description of the practice of reflexology I have ever seen. Given the quite technical nature of this book I think it could very likely become one of the standard text books for future students. (Natural Medicines Society News. )

Think of any question you have regarding reflexology... this book has the answers!!!
It has a complete, easy to follow picture sequence guide for feet and hands, which makes it practical for anybody interested in applying Reflexology.
The charts are clear and practical, I have not seen such a good chart of the reflex points on the hands before. The book is very focused and even help the therapist with practical things like client consultation, recordkeeping, bookkeeping, insurance and other practice management issues. But that is not what makes the book one of my most usefull tools on my desk - the real reason why I love this book is that it goes practically though how to treat common ailments! Like I said - if you have a question this book will answer it. The book ends on a very high but deep note - Care for the therapist. I would like to quote Andrew: "...we ae natural helpers, otherwise we would not be attracted to the caring profession...This driving force means we can neglect our well-being...the effects of burnout are cumulative... you cannot help your clients to help themselves unless you are in a fit state to administer the treatment."
I give this book 5 bright stars!

I have read quite a lot of books on Reflexology but none of them come close to covering as much of the subject as this one. It has everything you need to know and more. I loved the illustrated sequence guide and the way the author does not push one particular approach. The way each chapter includes tasks and practice questions is great for testing your knowledge. The section giving guidance on treating various conditions is excellent, as is the practice management section. The whole book is well organised and easy to read. If you only buy one reflexology book - buy this one! Highly recommended.

The title states that this is a complete guide to reflexology and that is certainly true. Andrew James' book takes you from the first steps of getting 'hands on' right through to how to set up your own business and he even gives helpful tips for filling out tax returns. This is everything that anybody thinking about a career in reflexology needs to know. It is also suitable for those who may be wanting to use reflexology to treat friends and family and not necessariy make a career out of the practice. The book contains lucid and precise instructions on giving a treatment and how to adapt your treatment so as to be truly holistic and not just going through the motions. Whatever your interest in reflexology I think that this book will contain the answers you need.
