This type of infuser design is quite new. They have not been around for more than 20 years. It borrows from the idea of the Gaiwan and is easier to use for novices. /This one is made with a Yixing bisque again for the heat retaining properties, although the clay quality is not as fine as that of the Long Quan cups (but is better than that of the tea caddy). The glazing is another form of celadon glaze, only yellow rather than green. Yellow was a popular colour in glazing before the celadon green came in./This infuser is an all purpose one because of its materials and design, it is good for preparing tea using either high or lower temperature water, it is often used on occasions when there are more people sitting around and using longer infusion times and the Gungfu approach./It should be used like a Gaiwan.
