I rate this book only 3 stars, not because it is a bad book, but because I ordered three books at the same time from the same author. And this book is unfortunately exactly the book "baking artisan bread". Eventhough the title is different and the date also differs and it is not stated anywhere. Probably is one book for the European market and one for the American market. Because it was my mistake, returning it will cost me almost as much as keeping it. So this part stinks.

The book itself is great however. There are lots of pictures of the different steps how to make the breads, how it should look like and lots of problem solving tips, also with pictures, which I found very helpful.

I have made a sourdough starter and I didn't know if it was ok. There are 3 pictures of how it should and shouldn't look like. It is like having a private teacher looking over your shoulder. It was ok btw. He also shows how to make different styles of bread and different forms, the ball, baguette, epi, etc. This book does not have a DVD included, but the other ones do, which show you exactly what you can see in the book. Beautiful. So this part is worth 5 stars.

it is almost as same as Ciril Hitz another book of "baking artisan breads", so you don't have to buy twice his book.
