Product Description

Pack of 6 coil springs plus 6 circlips for internal door handles. Can be used on both right handed and left handed handles. Spring dimensions are shown in the extra photograph above. Circlips are 13.8mm internal diameter (to fit 15mm shaft with 14.3mm groove). When replacing a door handle spring the two most important things to check are a) The orientation of the external hook compared to the internal hook eg. is it a 2-turn coil or a 2.5-turn coil and b) the thickness of the spring when laid flat. Most springs are retained with a circlip, which can be removed and replaced using circlip pliers. Circlip pliers are available quite cheaply on Amazon or in repair kits on the Northern DIY website (hosted by Amazon). The 2.5-turn, 2.5mm thick coil shown here is the most common type of door handle spring. Please note that if you fit a thinner spring than originally fitted the handle will have some excess play. If you fit a thicker spring than originally fitted it may be difficult to replace the circlip and the handle may have a tendency to stick. The circlips included are also the most common size used in door handles. When deciding on the size of circlip for your handle its better to measure the shaft rather than the old circlip as some poor quality circlips can become distorted. To see the different types of door handle spring we sell please type 'Northern DIY Door Handle Spring' into the Search Box. Tip: When fitting a new spring a little grease will give better wear and movement.

-Really satisfied. Our door handles had been droping for months. I dismantled and tried to repair but not successful. I went on the Web an d hunted for replacement springs. I found just what I wanted. They were delivered early the next morning. Fitting the new springs was so easy and we now have horizontal door handles again. I also have a couple of spares ready for when the next ones go. Really delighted.

I had four doors whose handles had collapsed because of broken internal springs, all of which needed replacing. Ideally the springs would have been 2mm thick or less but even the 2.5mm ones here worked. Using the tool I bought at the same time I have repaired all four doors saving myself around £30 in replacement costs. Plus I can now repair any others which go in the future.

Bought these to repair two door handles I had where the springs had broken, with the correct tools these were very easy to fit and should last a long time, even if they don't I now have some spares as there are six in a pack, great for the price!
Make sure you have the correct tool as takes a matter of seconds, otherwise will be fiddly and require some patience.

Bought this kit of 6 springs and 6 circlips when a door handle started to 'sag'. The spring on one of the two handles had broken. This kit arrived very quickly, and the broken spring was replaced, the new spring being a perfect fit. A pair of circlip pliers would have helped a lot, so buy a set for £2 from Amazon to make the job a doddle!

Last time the springs started to break in my door handles l spent a fortune to replace every handle in the house, solid brass for solid brass. I had not heard about spare parts. Thanks to Google and Amazon l am busy repairing them all this time, still can't get the bits locally o course. Very satisfying!

I have been trying to find these items for some time and finally thought of looking on Amazon. The items were dispatched quickly and were fitted with the minimum of fuss. A pair of circlip pliers made the job simpler. Another good product to save buying a brand new door handle

I bought this repair kit because two of our door handles had broken springs. I never knew there were door handle spring repair kits. Searched online and found these from 'Northern DIY' I must say the springs work well and the delivery was very prompt. Thanks all...

About £15 for each pair - the amount I have saved by not replacing the entire door handle in the kitchen. Will save even more by sorting out the other doors in the house with the remaining coils and then re-ordering. So glad I discovered this item.
