As a teacher of assertiveness training for 25 years, I am delighted with Kate Cohen-Posey's book on handling bullies and teasers. It is clear, concise, comprehensive -- chock full of practical strategies instead of the theories and generalities found in other books -- the best publication I have seen on this important subject. -Naomi Penner

I work in a centre in a secondary school supporting children in many ways. I brought one of these books and though it was fantastic. Though written in a very American way, it is still very practical with short practice scripts and explanations. I have now purchased 6 more books and we regularly run anti-bullying/ teasing groups practicing the skills shown in this book. It is designed and works well for shared reading and groups or individuals make real progress using it. I have since made up laminated cards of reminders for the children to take away. I have it on my strongly recommended list for parents and have it on my display on parents evenings.

I bought this to read with my son who has has issues with certain individuals at his school. We read the first chapter together, and he decided to try the stratagy suggested . The next day as we walked home from school he said "mum, the stuff they said to do in the book, it works".
