Good hand-held alternative to a mouse (if like me you use a laptop and don't have a handy space for a mouse-pad) - works perfectly well, is comfortable to use - the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the build quality feels a bit cheap - but it works perfectly well. (It doesn't have a scroll-wheel equivalent, only the left and right buttons.)

I've been a trackball fan for years and years - no need for a clear surface, no arm waving, and I would argue that I can use my thumb more precisely than my whole arm/wrist. Better than a trackpad, too. Love a good trackball!
But this isn't an ideal one - mine behaves like the old mechanical mice which tended to go sticky on you and not respond on one axis until you clean them out. The buttons on mine are a bit clunky to use, too.
Optical trackballs like the Logitech work _much_ better in our experience. Less frustrating by far.
For the asking price of 9 quid including postage this is a fair deal - for some reason optical trackballs are five times the price of a basic optical mouse. <sigh> But I still prefer them!

This is a great design, after a week or so getting used to it I have found it to be very comfortable to use. Not only is it an ergonomic design for the hand, but it allows me to sit in whatever position I find most comfortable, rather than slouching over the desk.
I would not give up this mouse for any other, but it does have two drawbacks:
1. The build quality is not great, I've been using mine for 6 months and I don't think it will last another 6.
2. No scroll wheel.

not for everyone
this is a handy device .does exaxctly what it says in the tin.however,its too small for my hands,and very uncomfortable after a long period of time
