Roger Norrington and his London Classical Players on period instrument's recorded Handel's famous water/fireworks music in 1996.The performances are excellent and the sound recording is outstanding.Sometimes Norrington's interpretation's can be controversial but on this cd they are very good indeed.I even rate this disc over rival account's by Gardiner,Pinnock,Hogwood,Savall etc.I never thought Norrington was really suited to Baroque music,more Classical era instead but this recording was a very pleasant surprise and i thoroughly recommend giving it a try.

I have to agree with the previous reviewer. I thought Pinnock's version of Handel's Water music was the best until I heard this version. The recording sound quality is excellent, in particular the brass sounds are very joyous. Great price too. Do yourself a favour!

Great little CD containing both the Royal Fireworks and Water music pieces from Handel. The music was great, but I felt that the quality of the recording was not as crisp as it could have been, but not enough to spoil the enjoyment.
