I echo all the other reviews. At the end you feel as if you have lived through something deeply profound and been changed by it. If you are considering buying it, consider no longer, just buy it.

Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a marvelous performance of Handel's most celebrated opera. Scholl is a superb Cesare. The vocal beauty and dramatic impact are held in perfect harmony. This is a dream of an opera with a nigh on perfect cast.

I wasn't fortunate enough to see this production live, so I've had to 'settle' for the DVD. Especially noteworthy performances from Andreas Scholl, Tuva Semmingsen and Inger Dam Jensen, but it's all-round brilliance.

NTSC disc not PAL
Buyers should be aware that this is not a PAL disc, as advertised, but NTSC. So it will not play on some DVD players.
