The absolute bible. A very large and technical reference, it contains 47 chapters, covering topics such as acoustics, electronic audio circuits, and gain structure. This book is not a light read or training manual, but if you need the answer, its in there...

This is quite simply the best book you'll find on sound engineering ANYWHERE. I studied this beast when I was doing my degree in Music Technology at Univerisity. You will not find a more rigourous text on so many areas of music technology and sound engineering than Glen Ballou's Handbook for Sound Engineers. The only problem, as far as I can see it, is that this massive big book is pricey, VERY pricey but if you are an audio professional or serious music technologist this purchase is a no brainer.

Thorough & in-depth, but written in a way to make it accessible to all. Everyone in audio should read this book!
