Product Description

Because dermatology is a complex visual specialty that mixes medical and surgical approaches to management, trainees need fast access to a wide range of material. This concise new reference uses tables, algorithms, protocols, guidelines, and staging and scoring systems to present succinct guidance on best–practice patient care. Structured around three components –– medical, surgical, and pharmacological –– the book consolidates the core Board exam information residents most often look up. Handbook of Dermatology: A Practical Manual  was road–tested as it was developed to ensure usefulness for dermatology residents, dermatologists, and family physicians.

Handbook of Dermatology 28 Aug 2011

This is a nice, concise supplemental text for Derm. What I like best about it is the amount of information fit into such a small space that I can easily carry with me.
Excellent Book, Terrible for Kindle 13 Jun 2011
By Cesar - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Having a Kindle, I ordered the kindle version. The information within the book is essentially the same, with a two caveats.

First, the publisher of the book decided to insert the charts (which contain text) as images. This means they are not searchable. These same charts are microscopic, so you have to zoom into each chart to view it. If the publisher had taken the time to proofread this text just once on a kindle or any of kindle's reader software (PC/Android/iphone), it would obviously have been corrected.

Second, the kindle itself is a little slow for a book which is meant to be a quick reference. This text would be an amazing addition for e-book format on a tablet if only the chart and diagrams weren't so small.

I ordered the hardcopy and will request a refund from amazon for the kindle version.
Great resource for dermatology residents and attendings alike. 26 April 2010
By Lawrence Wang - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
The handbook is essential for any dermatology resident during training and for board studying. It is also very handy for those in private practice who do not have a resident to grab one from. It is the equivalent of the "Washington Manual" for dermatologists.
