5.0 out of 5 stars Halo_18, 12 Aug 2005
001 - The Hand That Feeds [album version]

length of song - 3:40

personally i like this track, it was heavily critised for being too comercial but i think thats a load of rubbish.

002 - The Hand That Feeds [straight mix]

length of song - 7:48

This along with the third track is a remix done by Photek, personally i think that this version is better than the original. It has this awesome bit halfway through the song when eveything slows down and gradually builds up to when all the instruments are realeased, SIMULTANIOUSLY!!!

003 - The Hand That Feeds [dub mix]

length of song - 7:51

this track picks up at where the previous one finished, building up gradually as it goes along, kinda repetative but still okay.

overall id say that this is a pretty strong realease by Nine Inch Nails which is essential to any Halo collector and is also ideal for anyone who enjoyed the song The hand that feeds but wants to hear more. 5/5 but if you didnt like the hand that feeds then you'd just be wasting your money on this

5.0 out of 5 stars Return of NIN, 19 April 2005
When I first heard this track I had to turn the sound up straight away, NIN are well and truly back. The fact that it's quite catchy is in no way a bad thing, it's a song I can listen to again and again. After listening to this song and a few others from the new album "With Teeth" due out in May I can well and truly say that Trent and co are back and it's about bloomin' time.

2.0 out of 5 stars What Went Wrong...?, 15 April 2005
By A. Blair "foetusonthebeat" (Glasgow) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
For those who have been living under a rock, The Hand That Feeds is the first NIN release in 5/6 years...
and as saddened as I am to say so, it is weak. The simplistic, bass-driven riff sounds juvenile and unstructured. The song barely develops into anything, aside from an anti-climax of a chorus which merely turns the volume up slighty on the central riff (upon which the entire song depends, thus guarenteeing monotony throughout). The bridge towards the end makes use of some cringe-worthy and cliche'd lyrics such as "get down on your knees" (Trent, we've heard it all before on 'Pretty Hate Machine'...)
'Is it heavy'? I hear you ask.....Yes. If you want a thumping rock song for 2005, this is it, and i'm sure it'll fill dancefloors nationwide...just don't expect too much regarding the structure and try not to think of the full musical capabilities/potential of Mr. Reznor.
