Modern History would have us belive that during W.W.2. the R.A.F. only used 2 aircraft, the Spitfire and the Lancaster.
True, these aircraft bore the brunt of the fighting, and as a tribute to their longevity some are still flying today.
However, in the early days of W.W.2 many other aircraft types were used and this book is a fitting tribute to the much maligned Handley Page Hampden.
It is packed with great pictures and some very nice descriptive writing from ex Hampden crews.
This one rates alongside "The Hampden File" as a "must have" for anybody who is interested in Hampdens.
Buy it, you will like it!!.

Great book on an aircraft that not much has been published in comparison to the RAF's later bombers. Highly recommended

Very good collection of photos and historical notes. I'm building a model of this type, and the images are generally big enough and printed clearly enough to be really useful.

I bought this book as it contains a picture of my uncle taken days before he was lost standing with his squadron. The book itself is a must for any enthusiast and even more so if a member of your family flew during the wartime in a hampden. A fitting tribute to the brave young men.
