What a terrific piece of equipment!. It arrived well packed with the smaller bits put safely into separate boxes within the main box. It's easier to put together than similar machines I've built, with clearly illustrated numbered steps and individual bags of fixings labelled 'step 1', 'step 2' etc. So, little chance of having the wrong screw left for the final bit. It runs very smoothly and gives a good workout with a good selection of programmes and modes. And it can be started easily and quickly in manual mode if you don't feel like entering the user or program settings.
It can be set so that I can have a heavy or light workout at low or high RPM with great flexibility, and in 'heartrate' mode I like that I'm able to maintain a steady pulse without having to speed up too much. Also, the flywheel is heavy enough to smooth out the strokes so that it doesn't feel jerky or mechanical. It's big enough to do the job comfortably but not so big that it takes over the room, and seems amply stable and quiet. So as a home use cross trainer I'm very pleased with this buy and recommend it to others.

I left an earlier review expressing certain disappointment with the product sent (squeaking and problem with computer) and then more disappointment when I failed to find someone to talk to regarding my problems. It turns out after contacting Hammer direct and the company contact address for 'Service' in the manual that you are supposed to contact Amazon in the first instance as they are the actual retailer here. You live and learn.
Anyway, having made contact with Eeziweb (the importer and who have final responsibility for customer service in the UK) they couldn't have been more helpful. I'm not entirely certain they will always do this, but for me the chap who owns and runs Eeziweb came all the way from the Midlands, inspected my machine and proceeded to replace it with a new one which works perfectly! No quibbling. A very honorable and pleasant chap. I would have absolutely no qualms about dealing with them again.
And the machine is great! I know my issue re use would be whether I would be bored or not so I've got it in front of a HiFi and TV that I can plug my iTouch into. I watch programmes from the iPlayer piped into my TVscreen with a cable. That way I ensure that I use it regularly rather than making into a boring chore - I hardly notice I'm exercising now.
So whereas I gave a low score originally due to my frustrations, I am happy to have revised that to the top score for exceptional service. Well done!

This came very well packed & I found it very easy to build up. What I found particularly useful was that the bolts, screws & washers for each stage of the assembly were in individually labeled bags so that you didn't have to go through the whole mass of items & pick out the right things as to so often have to with build up items. The assembly instructions where also first class.
I would suggest leaving the plastic the covers off of the bolt assemblies, particularly those on the cross piece on the upright until you have used it for a few times to make sure that the bolts are kept tight as the covers are clip on & not too easy to remove.
The machine appears to be well built & so far I am happy with it. The only criticism being that I find that the instructions for setting up the computer unit a little hard to follow.
