Good simple recipes using the minimum of ingredients. Some ingredients don't exist anymore (e.g aspic) or are modernised, (fresh yeast, lasagne that needed to be boiled for 10 minutes before using in dish). It's nostalgic to look at the old style cookware in the illustrations.

Bought this because I lost a copy I'd had for years (still think one of the kids nicked it). It's a great book - no "Jus" or "Drizzles" just proper cooking!!!!

Well worth buying I have sent all my celebrity books to the charity shop and returned to the cook books I used when first married you can not beat them for good recipes no expensive ingredients and just great food

Hamlyn all colour cook book
I needed to replace this Cook Book which was lost in the 2007 floods of this area.

An old favourite
I was surprised to see this, as I have been trying to find one for quite a while. It arrived promptly and is in very good condition. I've had my old one for forty years!!!
