The cookbook is clearly written and a handy size to use.I like the presentation of one recipe/one picture which then makes them easy to follow. The recipes are varied and give lots of good ideas. Output so far has been successful and tasty. A good point is that the pages proved easy to wipe and anything is spilled. If you want a small size cook book that you can follow then this is a very good option.

A great variety of interesting recipes- but not all that healthy,

This is a pretty neat little recipe book. It's particularly good if you're looking for something a little bit different, as instead of the usual staples of the recipe book, there's something a little more unusual here- for example spiced orange and avocado salad, swordfish with couscous, tuna enchiladas, and lamb & prune tagine- things that you wouldn't necessarily think of when you open your cupboard and think "what's for dinner?"On the plus side, the variety is very good. As well as being low-fat, most of these recipes are low-effort too, generally involving not much preparation time. Every recipe serves 4 people, so it's easy to halve the ingredient quantities and serve 2 if required. There's a very wide variety of vegetarian dishes and a decent range of desserts, although the desserts are possibly the least inspiring section (though the mango & lime sorbet worked very nicely). Also, the presentation of the book is good, with tempting photos and a layout which makes it relatively convenient and easy to cook with, unlike some cookbooks which don't seem to have been designed for use in the kitchen at all. However I had a couple of minor issues with it. The methods in the recipes are far too over-simplified, and not presented in the most methodical manner- it's too easy to lose track of where you're up to, and it makes each recipe look much simpler than it actually is. In order to create a 'low fat' recipe, some of them seem to be ordinary recipes with the words 'low fat' written into the ingredients list, for example the pears with maple syrup biscuits recipe includes 'low fat sunflower spread' and may well be low-fat but it's definitely high-sugar. These are minor gripes for what is otherwise a very handy little kitchen book that will help keep our evening meals interesting.

I liked this recipe book as it had a large range of recipes that were interesting, easily made with everyday ingredients & the good photographs helped make them look appetising. The recipes I have tried worked out well. The only criticism I have is that it would have been nice to have the nutritional information for each recipe- kcal, fat, sugar, salt.
