Product Description

Synopsis

This work is part of a series of 6 picture book titles, following the adventures of Hamish McHaggis and his friends as they visit various destinations throughout Scotland. Author Linda Strachan and illustrator Sally J Collins have created the lovable character Hamish McHaggis, a happy-go-lucky Haggis recognizable by his orange fur, big red nose and tartan hat. In tow is the sceptical Rupert Harold the Third, a Hedgehog and English gent, the cheeky and mischievous Pine Marten, Angus and Jeannie, the accident prone Osprey. Colourfully illustrated the captivating stories will educate and reveal the geography and history of Scotland through the questioning English Rupert and leave children wanting to know more about Scotland and Hamish McHaggis. "The Wonderful Water Wheel" - Angus is having trouble with his boats but a trip on the canal to the Falkirk Wheel gives him an idea.

I bought this book whilst at the Falkirk Wheel for my 2.5 year old. It has proven a great way to remind him of his visit and he likes spotting the snails on each page too! Has certainly encouraged me to buy books on further days out as really proved a great learning tool about the Wheel, canals etc and he asks to read it all the time! First purchase from this series and I'll definetly by buying more.

This is another on of the McHaggis collection which is really good books for your child. The stories are good and the places of interest come alive to them when you read them. My son and I love this series of books. Bring on some more.

Great set of books takes me back to my childhood with the expressions the characters use in the book. My mum talks the same way. Keep up the good work
