I have a small collection of watches Rolex, Omega etc and have been looking for a reasonable aviation watch and for the money (because you get what you pay for) this is a good product. If I am being picky, the strap could be a little bit better quality but overall a nice watch. The supplier 'Luxury Time Pieces' were very good, considering the watch was ordered from the US for delivery to the UK everything turned up in less than a week plus an email asking if I was happy with the watch and the service.
P.S. As a PPL licence holder it isn't a bad pilots watch either, so if you get bored using a GPS treat yourself to one of these.

Hamilton Khaki Pilot 46mm 1 Mar 2012

I just received my Khaki Pilot a couple of hours ago and I haven't put it down since! I'm in love with it! I spent a long few months looking at different styles and brands before deciding on a Hamilton. Before purchasing my Pilot I was exclusively an Omega owner, but after looking around I have been thinking of broadening my watch horizons.

Ok, on to the watch:
The Khaki Pilot is a large watch, but by no means ridiculously large. For those with small wrists and afraid that the watch may be wearing them instead of the other way around, do not fear. I have a 6.5" wrist and it looks great on my wrist. I was also a bit hesitant about the size at first but I was anxious for no reason, the watch just fits.
The raised minutes is a nice touch and make reading the dial a breeze.
The sweeping second hand looks pretty savvy, it's long and slim and has an arrow at the tip!
I also realized after going outside for a few minutes that the lume is very legible after a short charge.
The brushed and polished case presents itself nicely without taking away from the large dial.
Another great feature happens to be the exhibition back where you can see the rotor of the automatic movement.
The rotor movement is rather quiet and light but after shaking it a bit I could make out the spins (coming from an Omega Seamaster Chrono, this was strange as I could feel my whole wrist shake with the rotor's spinning)
It also features a screw down crown making it water resistant up to 200m (This was new for me, I've never owned a watch with a screw down crown, it's kind of neat)
This Pilot watch is everything I imagined it would be after finally seeing it in person (and wearing it!)

On to the negatives:
I think that my only problem with my new watch would be the leather band.
I read around in some other reviews and this seems to be a prevalent issue with Hamilton watches, their bands don't last. I've only had the watch for a few hours and already I can see the cracking and flaking of the leather on the sides and crease. It seems that with most Hamilton owners, they switch out the bands pretty fast. I took this into account when buying the watch but I figure I should say something as well for the next buyer looking for a nice Hammie to add to his/her collection. If you're a stickler for these kinds of things, buy a replacement strap ahead of time.

All in all, I'm very satisfied with the watch itself and I think its a great addition to to my ever growing collection.
I rated four stars because of the strap in hopes that Hamilton will improve their leather band quality.

Purchased this watch a few months back. Beautiful. Loved it. It was only when I wanted to get a different band for it that I learned this watch was COUNTERFEIT. The model number on the back of the watch didn't match the description. I then called Hamilton to see if there was maybe a typo in the description, but the Hamilton rep told me the model number on the watch is not a Hamilton model number. What's more, they verified that this seller (Solid.State) is NOT an authorized Hamilton dealer, YET THEY REPRESENT THAT THEY ARE AUTHORIZED DEALERS OF EVERY WATCH THEY SELL. WARRANTY IS NOT HONORED BY THE COMPANY. SO! Everyone, check your model numbers, both on the actual product, the description, and also with the actual manufacturer. BUYER BE *VERY* AWARE!!!!

A fantastic watch 4 Jan 2011

A fantastic watch and beautiful piece of equipment. Just what a pilot needs - Clear face with hands that focus on minutes after the hour. Big, clear and solid, but at the same time attractively presented. Very happy with my purchase. It will be seen in the cockpit over Australian skies often.

Really nice at a great price! 27 Nov 2012

This is a very large watch that presents itself beautifully! However, since it is self-winding, and you might not use it for "your daily commute", make sure to get one of those automatic winders. That way you won't have to set it each time you want to wear it. But the presentation is impeccable!
