Once devastated by the loss of his own family through an act of revenge, the abduction of Hamilton's seven-year old goddaughter Nathalie rouses intensely painful memories. Kidnapped after her mother, the head of Swedish Security Police, made ill-advised comments to the media about Muslim separatist groups, her kidnappers demand a high price in the form of cash and political concessions. When the Swedish authorities remain passive, Hamilton is forced to take action. ...Agent Hamilton: But Not If It Concerns Your Daughter (2012) ( Hamilton: Men inte om det gäller din dotter ) ( Hamilton 2 ) (Blu-Ray)

Agent Hamilton is a fairly refreshing non-Hollywood take on a spy/action thriller. In this second installement he is about to embark on a private mission, saving his god daughter from a Saudi extremist, who kidnapped her to teach her mother - also a Swedish intelligence officer - a lesson. The fact that the Saudi extremist (oil fed) enjoys support from both the CIA and some former SAS mercenaries is an added complication (whether believable or not is another matter).

The action takes place in Sweden, London, Lebanon - he again gets lots of support from Mona, a PLO counterintelligence operative - and Saudi Arabia and is not of the huge explosion over the top type but rather kept fairly believable, if frequent. In that aspect the movie is much more in the vein of Heat [DVD] [1995] than The Expendables [DVD].

The protagonist - Agent Hamilton of Swedish Intelligence - is certainly a multidimensional character, and is not shying away from breaking the odd rule.

Overall, if you are a fan of the more believable end of action movies, this is definitely worthwhile sampling. It is not essential to watch Hamilton: In the Interest of the Nation ( Hamilton: I nationens intresse ) beforehand to understand the movie but doing so will provide some additional background on the characters (many are the same), which may well be helpful.
