Product Description

Product Description

A Shining Star from Hama!

For serious photographers a good, sturdy tripod is a must have for certain photos, preventing camera movement to minimise blurring and creating a sharp, high-quality photo. This makes them ideal to use for capturing self-portraits or group shots, where there is no one to hold the camera, as well as for slow-speed exposures or when capturing wildlife and other scenes where details need to be crisp and clear.

Become snap happy and produce beautiful professional looking shots with this versatile and super compact Star 70 EF tripod. Suitable for use with both video and photo cameras, its rubber feet permit a firm grip on a range of terrains, with an aluminium structure that creates a strong and sturdy support for cameras whilst also remaining lightweight for easy and convenient transportation and great pictures on the go.

To allow you to achieve a range of heights (from 42.5-125cm) and to capture pictures and videos from the perfect perspective in a variety of situations, the Star 70 EF comes with a fully adjustable centre column, along with a spirit level to ensure even alignment of the camera and a 3-way tripod head which can be repositioned at a number of different angles and smoothly panned for the creation of a smooth and professional film. Furthermore, with its standard 1/4” (6.4mm) thread, mounting your camera no longer needs to be a chore as you can attach it to the tripod and even switch between different cameras in an instant, ensuring that you never miss that all important photo opportunity.

A fantastic piece of kit for the money, it even comes with its own travel case which it folds neatly into so that you can carry your tripod around with you safely with no hassle. Whether you are hiking up a hill, attending an important event or jetting off to your next holiday destination, you will always be fully prepared for any photographic eventuality thanks to the Star 70 EF!

Manufacturer's Description

As well suited to video as it is to still photography, the Hama Star 700 will help you frame your shots and follow movement smoothly.

This tripod is incredibly cheap but it's very useable.

The legs are a bit flimsy but there's plenty of adjustment available. The camera mounting is easy to control and has adjustment available for horizontal and vertical movement and also for setting the camera in portrait orientation.

Feels sturdy enough when set up and certainly doesn't seem like it will fall over!

Also comes with a carrying pouch!

Excellent value.

I was a bit unsure whether to buy this tripod at first, as £10 seemed too cheap, how glad am i that i chose to purchase this item!! the legs have 4 different heights in total (compact, fully extended and two more) and the stability is suprisingly good!

I'm not a proffessional photographer, merely an amatuer point and click user who has just invested in a better camera requiring a tripod to get better pictures.

For a first time tripod there is nothing i could possibly say that is bad about this product, its nice and small, comes in a bag, and was only a tenner!!! WINNER!

For an amazing £9.99 you get a portable, stylish-looking tripod which is excellent for portraits and macro work under normal conditions. By eliminating shake it dramatically improves digital photography . The operational range is from 52cm (20") to 146cm (57"). The top 30cm are achieved with a crank handle, thus allowing quick minor adjustments. When retracted it stows in a standard rucksack. Everything works well, all the angles are covered and there are two spirit levels. Only two quibbles - firstly I like close-up plant photography and you can't get right down to ground level. Secondly, the telescopic legs are quite stiff. Perhaps a bit of WD40 would help. Treat it with care and you should get plenty of use out of it.

Top bit of kit for amazing price.

Maybe if you're a pro and need some clever bits and bobs then this isn't for you (and you probably won't be reading this if you are) but otherwise it's a top bit of kit.

Instructions are in german but seriously, you're camera plonks on top, and you tighten it. Sorted.

I have had a lot of tripods including a Benbo 2. I was seriously thinking of getting a Trekker until I tried this out in ASDA. It is a great piece of kit - so light and handy with its own bag. Will do the job for the vast majority of situations I need it for with a small digital camera.

Superb value for money, nice and stable, smooth tilt and swivel for panning, using with a D-SLR on top (Canon 400D + 17-85 Lens). For the money, it's a great investment, rewarding extra range of picture opportunities in low light conditions, great stitched landscapes etc. Folds and locks well, zipper carry case etc

I have a 5dmarkII+24-105 gear and also a Benro travel angel tripod.
I don't take my tripod out for trips often cos I still think it is heavy & what is worse, takes forever to set it up and fold it back!
I was thinking of getting a cheap & light alternative, and I bought this one for my trip to Italy, where I need to take quite a few night shots.
I was a little worried the tripod might not hold up such a heavy gear but to my surprise, it carried out its job excellently! I took quite a few 15s-20s long exposure shots and the quality turned out to be good!
But I have to admit that better use this on non-windy day otherwise the shots will turn out to be blurry.

Anyway, it is a good buy! I already recommended my friends to go for it!

I searched a long time a light tripod to take photos while traveling. This one is cheap, light (~600 gr) and sold with a travel case. More important it has a full 3d (moving in 3 directions) head with a level. With a compact o with a light SLR or in my case a panasonic FZ28 it is perfect. Do not expect to use it with a professional SLR or a semi-pro/pro video camera though.
