This strong, yet simple little device has a multitude of uses for photographers and videographers alike. Constructed from aluminium this camera bracket is both strong and light at the same time. It has a rubber coating on the bracket to ensure that the camera is mounted securely but without damage by the 6.4mm, ¼” camera screw. This screw has a socket on the base to allow the complete assembly to be mounted to a tripod or stand for more stable use.
At one end there is a shoe attachment which can be used for a variety of accessories, depending on whether a still or video camera is mounted. With a still camera, this is the idea location for a flash gun or a remote sensor to be mounted that is close enough to the camera but still offset enough to avoid red-eye. With a video camera, the user can chose to mount a video light on this shoe for some additional illumination or alternatively a separate microphone so that the sound of the camera and lens motors is not picked up so easily when recording. This bracket can also form the basis of a macro set up using multiple flash guns. Surely this great little bracket should find its way into any photographer’s gadget bag?

I know this bracket is made to attach a flash off to the side of a camera, but I like to use it to attach a flash and a Pocket Wizard remote radio trigger to a light stand (see the photo I added). Other companies make the PocketWizard Tranceiver Caddy for Plus II and MultiMax Raduio Triggers to strap it to a light stand--which is fine for when I'm using it with a large monoblock strobe light. But for a simple flash, this lay out makes checking and setting the radio trigger and the flash easier. Plus, this is cheaper and it looks pretty cool this way.
This bracket can be used with a videolight,with these new small HD video cams that are available you cannot fix the light on top.My problem solved thanks to Hama.
I can fit my Nikon D200 with an SB-800 comfortably on here, but this thing isn't very sturdy (what do yo expect for the price!) but I assumed that when I ordered - I don't mind as I only bought to use very seldom.
