I bought this as a gift for my daughter and she really enjoys making different pictures using the boards provided. I would definitely recommend this toy. The only thing I would point out is that the manufacturers recommended from age 5yrs and up however it may be a little bit fiddly for some 5 year olds as the actual beads are pretty small.

I bought this for my 8 year old girl. She loved it straight away and she has played with it for many hours. She enjoys making the designs and now, she also uses the little templates to create her own shapes, she does not just follow the templates. The downside is that the beads are quite small, so they can be fiddly. I am not sure a younger child would enjoy it as much and there is also the danger of a younger child swallowing them. I would not buy it for a special needs child either as it uses very fine motor skills. Bigger beads would be better. But overall, a good toy which will keep your child busy for a while.

A fantastic Hama bead set. Ideal as the first set for a child. Contains three peg boards: a heart, a sea horse and a flower. Has 2400 beads in assorted colours and the plastic moulded lid is really useful for sorting your colours into sections.
The set only comes with one small sheet of greaseproof paper, but it can be stored in the large section of the box, uncreased and is reusable.
