Bad quality product. First one stopped working in 2 minutes after turned on. Got a replacement, which had a tube dropped off straight out of the box - probably too fragile to be shipped? Not sure.
Has demanded a refund from seller which was processed really quickly, only hoped that the quality of the product can be improved. Now wasted a few days with this one and hunting for a hopefully better replacement.

it tips over and this one didnt work anyway so it went back but, if anyone needs to use this product please make sure you secure it somehow because it does tip over so easy

I bought this heater to keep me warm while working in my uninsulated and draughty garage, and it's certainly doing the job. Because of the infra-red heat produced, I can feel the heat, even if the air temperature is cold, so there is an immediate benefit when I switch the unit on. The different heat settings allow a boost of heat at 1200W, which is still about half or a third of some fan heaters, and the amount of heat that it deliveres very good. Once it's been running for a while and the air temperature has risen a bit, it's possible to turn the heat down to 800W or 400W, and keep the temperature maintained.
It's bright, like having a light bulb switched on, so for home use at night, perhaps this heater won't be for you. Also, the heater smoked for the first hour or so of operation. Apparently, this is normal having read some of the other reviews. Wasn't a problem for me in my draughty garage.

Halogen Heater
A little disappointed the heater does not have stability on carpeted floor and the safety switch is prone to cutting in. The mounting base needs to be made more rigid.

3 bar halogen heater
The only fault with this heater is that it will not work standing on a shag pile carpet; the safety switch is not depressed by the soft pile therefore the heater will not work. Read more
