These bulbs are delicate. They are devils to install, and easy to break if you twist them even slightly during installation. The bulbs have two spindly legs that are inserted between two clamps behind a heatshield with two tiny pinholes in it. Because these bulbs get very hot the clamps become very stiff and it can be extremely difficult to get the new bulb in. The solution to this problem is to give the old bulb a good wiggle about before removing it to loosen the clamps. If the new bulb still doesn't slot in easily insert a short drawing pin and wiggle it up and down. Do not be tempted to twist or wiggle the new bulb as this is how they break. If the clamps are loosened up enough the bulb will go in with very little resistance. This is just one of those times where a little bit of inside knowledge can help save a lot of tears and swearing that would make a sailor blush. Good luck!

I purchased these bulbs and paid less the for 30 bulbs than I have for 4 bulbs from B & Q.

Arrived quickly.

I'm sometimes appalled by the price asked for certain items in local shops so here is an opportunity to pay a sensible amount and to have some spares in stock.

These bulbs are a must buy if you require G4 12v bulbs. I was skeptical when I read you could get 30 bulbs for this price. They fit and work perfectly. I received the bulbs within a week of purchase. Excelllent.

Maybe I've got a bad batch, but I've gone through at least 4-5 bulbs already. Each only lasts 3-4 weeks in my halogen desk lamp. I haven't been frequently switching my lamp on and off, but that hasn't made a difference. Switching it on, from cold, it blinks and goes pop. Another dead bulb.

The previous replacement bulbs I've bought have lasted years.

Wasn't sure that the bulbs would be OK as they are so cheap but I needn't have worried. They came really well packed and they work fine. Great buy!

I needed some replacement bulbs for my kitchen cupboard under-lighters. Mine are the brushed chrome type with triangular cases, they have a removable frosted glass cover held in by a metal ring, behind which sits the bulb. I can't give a model number unfortunately.

I chose this particular pack on the strength of reviews here about individual bulb packaging which, as well as giving protection, seemed compatible with the handling advice I've also found here - thank you fellow reviewers. They're also a good price for a large quantity (I paid about £6.30 for thirty while the local shops seem to be selling packs of two or four for similar prices).

It seems the packaging has changed though, or is inconsistent with other experiences. My bulbs, bought March 2013, were shipped in a small box containing 7 and a half blister packs of four bulbs each. They were rattling about in the box, but the two I've used so far have worked - even after one dropped 3ft on to a hard floor when the pack opened quicker than I anticipated - open with care! I would test the rest if it weren't for the advice not to handle and for the packaging, but they seem okay at a glance.

On balance I'm happy with the purchase and hopeful that they will last a reasonable time. If they don't I might post an update.
