When Halo wars was anounced I knew I had to have it, but I was cautious because of the bad experiences I have had from other console RTS games such as C&C3. When I first got the game I was amazed by just how well it works, at first there was the odd frame rate drop however they actually patched this and the game runs as smooth as silk. The controls are one of it's biggest selling points, they are simple to master, and they are responsive. The Radial interface makes constructing, and training new units a breeze. As for the graphics they look fantastic. This game was designed for consoles from the ground up, and ensamble have done a terrific job it is sad that ensamble have shut down, as I would have loved to see a sequel.
The only real bad point is that the there is no covenant campaign, and the multiplayer/skirmish maps are a tad small for an RTS, there are also some very rare path finding issues with the scorpion tanks, but these don't really subtract from the overall gameplay.
A good choice for anyone looking to get a console RTS.
