I never expected the guide to be quite so big. The pages are almost A4 in size, rather than A5 which I had expected. Quite a pleasant surprise indeed, and really justifies the cost. The guide itself provides very in-depth detail about Halo Reach, using a variety pictures and screenshots, as well as writing. Not only does the book guide you through each level of the campaign, it also gives you useful tactics of how to beat the game on the Legendary difficulty (most difficult).
The second half of the book tells you everything you need to know about multiplayer. It describes: the various game modes (in detail), the maps(tactics, weapon & vehicle locations), how to use the forge effectivily, the weapons, armour abilities, the credits and ranking system etc. The book even instructs you how to win all of the achievements! The only rant I have is that I don't think enough detail was given about the various armours which are on offer in the armoury - I still don't know whether wearing different armours affects your overall protection online. It is arguable that most of the contents of this book can be learnt by an experienced Halo'er within one week of just simply playing Reach, but even I picked up a few pointers by skimming through the book. The last few pages of the book contains a few concept sketches from the creators, which is.. nice.
This is a great book and is a useful tool to gamers who are novice Halo players, and can clarify an experienced player's understanding of the game. Not to mention that the book is just interesting to read.
