This collection brings together every Halo game that directly involved the master chief and over 100 multi player maps to go with them.

I've been a fan of these games from the start I must admit, I find it a brilliant series, always tight and playable with great AI and an interesting world and characters.

To have all of this collected in one place, brought up to modern TV standards (1080p throughout) looking stunning and to have Halo2 given the full anniversary treatment (with the ability to cut between original and new cut scenes and gameplay in an instant) makes for an incredible package.

Note that there have been some multiplayer issues and my son couldn't get any games in matchmaking for some time (I was playing campaign which works perfectly so didn't realise until he informed me, having looked it was a widespread problem). Patches are now rolling out to resolve it so hopefully multi player will be as it should be going forward.

Not that this game also comes with the Halo: Nightfall TV show available via the Halo Channel (a small download) and also a Beta for Halo 5 Guardians.. just adding to the amount of content and value.

Overall, fantastic series, amazing value and a must buy for the Xbox One.This collection brings together every Halo game that directly involved the master chief and over 100 multi player maps to go with them.

I've been a fan of these games from the start I must admit, I find it a brilliant series, always tight and playable with great AI and an interesting world and characters.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Master Chief is back! 11 Nov. 2014
Platform for Display:Xbox One|Verified Purchase
Any updates to how the game plays will be placed at the bottom...

Out of all the games this year, this one has been top of my list and like many Xbox gamers I'm guessing you too are a Halo fan, if you aren't then once you play this you soon will be, I myself can remember playing the original on the very first Xbox, it was a transformative game and the remake of the original on xbox 360 was a huge success.

So what is the Master Chief Collection? It's a remake of Halo's 1-4 on the next generation. Everything has been given some graphical stardust with Halo 2 being given the full monty and extra special treatment. All 4 games are on the one disk and can be played in whatever order you want. Indeed you can create custom playlists consisting of different missions from different games. Story wise, Halo is about saving Humanity from the forces of evil, mainly the Covenant, Prometheans and Flood and is spread across the 4 games in different locations. The locations that all 4 games are set in are stunning, indeed you can just stand there sometimes and admire the beauty (and take a few screenshots as you go)

Graphically the game is a masterpiece, sure there are a few areas as you travel around where you notice the odd rock or object that appears "low rent" almost as if the developers forgot about it or had trouble giving it a new look, it's not a deal breaker and to be honest I'm being a bit picky.

Now some may be thinking, they've missed out Halo:ODST or Halo:Reach and you'd be right simply because those games do not feature the Master Chief so don't throw a paddy over it, just accept they're missing for a reason! However, the good news is you can play through all 4 games in co-op over xbox live (dribble dribble drool drool).

1.0 out of 5 stars AwFul multiplayer 18 April 2015
Platform for Display:Xbox One
This game took over 24 straight hours to install, thats over 24 hours of electric wasted and over 24 hours i cant use a £300 console,to be honest all xbox one games are awful at installing, also a 500gb hard drive has near 20% took up with this one single game which is a joke. The multiplayer is ridiculous,it takes 5-10 minutes minimm to find a game then the bunch of idiots always just choose team slayer rather than the many other options, then half the time they quitbased upon the game selectionleaving only me in a game ony own,or me quitting if its dragged on too long with just 1 or 2 people left.theres at least. 5 variations i know of like flag capture and the king of the hill game which ive managed to play once.i message people and just get abuse back so im left sat waiting for the same game on the same 2-3 maps to load only to have everyone quit and start the match making process again.overall its just waiting for it to install then waiting to find a game.xbox 360 would load a game disc in seconds and be in a multiplayer game within minutes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hindered by poor matchmaking 30 Mar. 2015
Platform for Display:Xbox One|Verified Purchase
I'm a die hard Halo fan, but this game has been constantly receiving updates since release. I think the move from Bungie to 343 has come with a drop in quality and leaves the game unplayable at points. Whilst beautiful to look at, finding matchmade games is frustrating.
