4.0 out of 5 stars The Master Chief is back! 11 Nov. 2014

Any updates to how the game plays will be placed at the bottom...

Out of all the games this year, this one has been top of my list and like many Xbox gamers I'm guessing you too are a Halo fan, if you aren't then once you play this you soon will be, I myself can remember playing the original on the very first Xbox, it was a transformative game and the remake of the original on xbox 360 was a huge success.

So what is the Master Chief Collection? It's a remake of Halo's 1-4 on the next generation. Everything has been given some graphical stardust with Halo 2 being given the full monty and extra special treatment. All 4 games are on the one disk and can be played in whatever order you want. Indeed you can create custom playlists consisting of different missions from different games. Story wise, Halo is about saving Humanity from the forces of evil, mainly the Covenant, Prometheans and Flood and is spread across the 4 games in different locations. The locations that all 4 games are set in are stunning, indeed you can just stand there sometimes and admire the beauty (and take a few screenshots as you go)

Graphically the game is a masterpiece, sure there are a few areas as you travel around where you notice the odd rock or object that appears "low rent" almost as if the developers forgot about it or had trouble giving it a new look, it's not a deal breaker and to be honest I'm being a bit picky.

Now some may be thinking, they've missed out Halo:ODST or Halo:Reach and you'd be right simply because those games do not feature the Master Chief so don't throw a paddy over it, just accept they're missing for a reason! However, the good news is you can play through all 4 games in co-op over xbox live (dribble dribble drool drool).

5.0 out of 5 stars Almost the complete package 18 Dec. 2014

Firstly, the campaigns. All 4 halo campaigns contained on a single disc, absolutely fantastic! Brilliant way to relive the amazing story in one convenient place. The halo 2 anniversary cut scenes are immense! The multiplayer is improving with the newest updates but is not quite where it should be, still good though! Also the nightfall tv series thrown in adds as a pleasant extra! Great value for money

I named my cat Cortana in honour of this collection. Ability to switch between old and new graphics instantly in the remakes is the most nostalgic, tear inducing experience of this console generation. Note picture is of the figure included with the expensive edition my friend bought. It is epic. Massive and impractical, but epic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Re-living my youth 21 Jan. 2015

Love the Halo games. It is the main reason I'm on XBox platform so happy they put this collection together.

With what would have been your select button on an Xbox 360 you can toggle through different graphic modes on the game bringing you back to when Halo was first released.

Really fast delivery too!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good price for four nostalgic games 2 Jan. 2015

Very good price for four nostalgic games. The only problem, however, was that the matchmaking is still a bit bad. Some days it works, others it takes 5+ mins to find a game. Apart from that, very good graphic quality, campaign is amazing and when it works, matchmaking is great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally i get it! 16 Nov. 2014

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Never was a big Halo fan back when it was 1st released. I was a big PS2 fan and pretty much hated the giant controllers on the original Xbox. Skip forward a few years and how times have changed. I now massively prefer the Xbox One to the PS4 for all the obvious reasons so I decided it was time to play Halo and find out what all the fuss was about. Wow its incredible! And I don't really know why! It just has that special something that great games have. When I'm playing it really feels like I'm playing something special. The way you can press 1 button and it reverts to the old graphics is really fun and shows you just how much work they have actually put into this. I know the online isn't currently working but I'm sure that will be put right soon and until then there are 4 great campaigns to play through. GTA5 was shockingly bad for its online yet people still raved about it.

I believe im in an enviable position to most as I'm experiencing these great games for the 1st time (except 3 and part of 4). If you are in a similar situation to me then you absolutely must get this game! Also its worth an amazing 4500 gamerscore points! It may take a while to unlock them all though!
