I was fairly impressed when I received this model, but soon after, bits starting breaking off and I was forced to send it back. Shame. I am wondering if I will have more luck with another.

Excellent as usual, the Play Arts figures are a good representation of the characters from the game without being over priced.

Great product if QC was better 30 July 2012

The primary complaint I have with this figure is that the one I received has an upside down knee joint which makes one leg longer than the other. A real bother to the scrupulous eye. This issue also prevents the figure from any position which is not meant to convey a sense of motion as the entire torso leans to one side to compensate for the longer leg. Other than that the figure is nice. The paint is well done although inaccurate but the articulation is excellent. Rather than let light reflecting off the paint to actually make glare this figure has lighter spots of paint to simulate light reflecting off the Mjolnir armor which I do not like. The level of detail is nice and this figure is a major improvement over the Reach line.
HALO LEGENDS - The Package Edition Master Chief!...... Well, almost. 21 Mar. 2015
By ToughCustomer86 - Published on Amazon.com
This likeness of the Master Chief seems to be taken directly from the short film "The Package" directed by Shinji Aramaki (Ghost in the Shell series)
from the animated masterpiece HALO LEGENDS.. If you compare the two figures (See Mcfarlane Toys "The Package" Edition Master Chief) they are almost identical! The Play Arts Kai version is missing the white stripes and 117 numbering on chestplate though... Wish Square Enix would have just gone ahead and made a full replica of "The Package Master Chief" as at least that would have been based on something... Maybe because Square Enix is a Japan based toy design company, and HALO LEGENDS was made by the best Anime production directors at the time, so they decided to make a Master Chief they thought most resembled their revered Anime style rendition of him... Wish it had the stripes soooo much. :'(
OMG wait, i can customize it myself. BYE!

PS: This figure is dynamite. It is so freakin well sculpted, the paint gleams, articulation is masterwork, weapons are boss, detail is spectacular. I even like this one over the H4 version, see comparison in photo 4! Just to make this figure Halo CE worthy I am buying the Halo Reach figure "Emile" just to get his shotgun and equip it on this figure!
So yeah, the unofficial "Package/Halo Legends Master Chief"! - Go buy it now!

This is a pretty sweet addition for your desk/cube. Putting the rifle into the supplied hands was a little difficult but it was doable.

Looks amazing, breaks easily. 21 Oct. 2012

I bought this because it looks pretty awesome, and when it came in the mail it certainly didn't disappoint when it comes to aesthetics; this thing it a beaut. I keep it on a desk as a display piece. However, this is not a child's toy. Just from posing him, his shoulder popped off and the hinge came loose. Considering I don't play with action figures this isn't really a problem for me, but for anyone buying their child a toy it may very well be.
Buy it to display it, don't buy it for your kids to play with. This thing will NOT hold up to child's play.
