Amazon.co.uk Review

The Halo games were always the best reason to by an Xbox and now the final part in the initial trilogy of ground breaking first person shooters is set to raise the bar for all Xbox 360 games. Well known for their secrecy, Bungie have officially revealed little about Halo 3, but what is known is that the new game features an Earth completely overtaken and controlled by the Covenant, as they seek a secret hidden Forerunner weapon.

Although little is known about the single player mode, more has been seen of the multiplayer, with various beta testing schemes going on in both secret and in public. A number of new weapons and vehicles have already been revealed including a new assault rifle, the new Spartan laser anti-vehicle weapon and a new hand held shield device for Master Chief that can create a far more effective protective shield around you. New vehicles include the ATV-like Mongoose, a new variant of the Warthog and the new, more powerful, Brute Ghost.

Of course the most important new feature that every new fan is interested in is the graphics, and they are looking predictably fantastic. With lots of technobabble, new features like high dynamic range lightning and pre-computed radiance transfer means the game will not only play great but looks amazing too.

5.0 out of 5 stars best halo so far... 9 Sep 2010

Edition:Classics Edition
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Cheers guys!

this game is so much fun i couldn't believe it during first playthrough. I started playing halo:CE just 3 weeks ago (for the first time ever). Then i skipped halo 2 (i watched all cutscenes on youtube und read the story of halo 2) and started halo three in order to finish it in time for reach. I finished halo 3 just recently on legendary in co-op mode and immediately started it again on legendary single-player. I just can't get enough!
I'm 26 years old and the halo series just hit me, so to speak.

I'm sorry if my writing isn't that good, i'm german.

In the end i recommend this game to EVERYONE.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome 21 July 2010
Edition:Classics Edition
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
If you are into video games in any way it is likely that you will have come across the Halo series. Halo 3 ends the trilogy and is well worth the money. Firstly the Classic edition is no different from the Original the only change is the picture size on the front.

The Campaign
The campaign is just nine levels long but there are several large levels in there that will take some time to play. Furthermore there are 4 difficulty settings so depending upon your skill level the time it takes you to play through will differ. The campaign is playable solo, with a friend on the same console or up to 4 players over xbox live. Playing with a friend is highly recomended.

Multiplayer
The Halo multiplayer is huge and played by millions. There are a variety of maps and game types to play as well as the option to personalise your character. However not all of the maps are included in the game, the rest are downloadable from xbox live for a price. If you are keen on multiplayer then I suggest buying HALO ODST, as well as a campaign that is worth a look you will also get a second disc with all of the multiplayer maps, I am fairly sure this option is cheaper than getting the maps off xbox live.

Note to parents
Although the game comes with a 15 certificate the violence included is of a sci fi nature and I can think of only one instance that may be unsuitable for younger players. However this instance is not noticable unless you go looking for it.

Conclusion
Halo 3 is by far one of the best games I have played and is certainly worth the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars fun but not quite what's hyped to be 8 Jun 2010
A Kid's Review
Edition:Classics Edition
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
single player-9/10

the single player on this game has a very good plot I can't compare it to the previous games because as a relatively young gamer i never had the pleasure of playing one but if they're as good as this game then they must be great. The variety of weapons is quite good as is variety of vehicles. The storyline is gripping but some of the levels can get a bit repetitive hence the loss of one mark, very fun to play but finishes all a bit too quickly and will definitely leave you wanting more.

multiplayer- 10/10

multiplayer on halo 3 is absolutely brilliant you can almost always find someone to play with within a minute on all the games. The bonus weekend games bungie puts up are a great way to raise your exp quickly. I completed single player in maybe 5-7 hrs of play maybe a few weeks ago but i'm still playing halo thanks to the multiplayer it's great fun and it runs very smoothly congrats to bungie on that front definitely.

overall-4/5

I bought this game because of all the hype i'd heard great great things about this game so when I found it for relatively cheap I couldn't resist.
It's an extremely good game and very very fun to play but it's hyped up too much and when anything's that hyped up it's bound to have some faults and I can't help but feel a bit disappointed but perhaps I set my expectations a bit too high. When I played this first I didn't like it and looking back at it it seems crazy but it's true. Buy this game you definitely will not regret it.
