As the reviewer before me has stated, at the time of this review the soundtrack is yet to be released so there is probably some materiel I can't comment on, but I've played the game and the score that accompanies the campaign is just wonderful, it is very unique in terms of the traditional Halo sound. I've got the soundtracks for Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2 (Volumes I & II), Halo 3 and Halo Wars and it is easily the best out of all of them, and I would class the Halo series as having the best sountracks of any game.
In short, quite possibly the best soundtrack to ever accompany a videogame. Preorder this on it's own as it is a joy to listen to but as with all well-written game soundtracks, it is just perfect for creating and transforming the atmosphere while you play.
You can appreciate it's beauty standalone but please, enjoy the game to hear it's genius!

If you are a fan of the Halo soundtracks or maybe just a fan of the game and like the background music then this is a great album. This one, as with the game itself, is a much more moody and sombre soundtrack. It still has the Halo 'feel' to it but its definitely a new piece altogether. If you do not own any of the soundtracks and are looking to purchase one I would first start with either the Halo 3 OST or the Halo 2 Vol. 1 OST for a more driving, and full on Halo soundtrack experience.

Having just bought the soundtrack I've only had a couple of days to listen to it, in fact I'm listening to it right now, most tracks last about 5+ minutes, and each track is split up into 3+ songs, the good thing about this is that every track is split up into different 'Emotions' or 'Events' that you can relate to the game. The CD's have a total of 17 tracks and 68 songs. Its a good price and I would recommend it to anyone who likes the Halo music.
