From Amazon.co.uk

"You can't kill the bogeyman", the children insist to a terrorised Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) in the original Halloween. How right they are. Laurie is gone, but guess who's back in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers? Acting as if the third entry never existed, this instalment picks up 10 years after the original, with mad maniac Myers in a coma and moved to a new facility. But wouldn't you know it that as soon as a loose-lipped orderly lets slip that Myers has a surviving niece he springs back into action, leaving a bloody trail of corpses on the road to Haddonfield. Donald Pleasance returns as Dr Loomis, scarred and crippled from his last encounter with Myers and seething with a fanatical zeal to stop the freak from repeating his previous rampage. Pleasance is the best thing about the film as an ageing hero seemingly on the verge of madness who drags a bum leg in his manic rush to save little orphan Jamie (Danielle Harris), the 10-year-old waif terrorised by her homicidal uncle. Director Dwight Little has managed a generic if professional slasher picture, rife with improbabilities and dominated by a killer whose superhuman powers reach near-mystical dimensions, but he delivers the goods: shocks, stabs and cold, cruel killings. --Sean Axmaker, Amazon.com

Product Description

Psychotic slasher Michael Myers has spent the ten years since his 1978 attack on Laurie Strode in a coma, but while being transported from a maximum security institution revives and makes his escape. He returns once again to his former home town of Haddonfield, but upon learning that Laurie has reputedly died in a car crash, sets his sights instead on his niece, Jaime (Danielle Harris). Only one man can stop Michael in his bloody crusade - psychiatrist Doctor Loomis (Donald Pleasence). Followed by 'Halloween 5 - The Revenge of Michael Myers'.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Welcome Return of Michael Myers 9 Jun 2001
Format:VHS Tape
This is a very good horror movie. It would be my 4th favourite in the series(after 1,2 & H20).It picks up 10 years after Part 2, and has an interesting storyline whereby Myers returns to Haddonfield to stalk his niece.Donald Pleasance returns as Sam Loomis, one again to try stop Myers. The characters in the film, namely Loomis, Jamie(the niece) and Rachel(her step sister), are likeable and you end up hoping that none of them wind up dead.Dwight H. Little does well in trying to recreate the tension and suspense of the first 2 movies but never really gets there. It seems he may have been more interested in the violence with Michael on the rampage in his quest to kill his niece.I think the body count is very high in this movie compared to some of the other ones(Michael even attacks the police station which is a cool touch).Little seems to be more comfortable with the violence than with the frights and shocks, but overall he has created a very good, entertaining horror movie. If you love Michael Myers and any of the other Halloween movie then you'll love this one immensely.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant ending 8 Dec 2007
By marky77 VINE VOICE
Format:DVD
In Haloween IV: The Return of Michael Myers, (as suggested by the title) Michael Myers returns (Halloween III having been a completely separate movie and not featureing Michael Myers). It has been 10 years since the events of Halloween and Halloween II and Michael escapes once again, this time while bein transported between institutions in an abulence, this time determined upon killing his niece, Jamie.

Lorrie (Jamie Lee Curtis) in not in this movie. We are instead introduced to her daughter, Jamie, neice of Michael Myers, a girl who is about 7 years old and has horrible nightmares about her Uncle and is teased by the kids at school because her Uncle is "the boogeyman".

Michael Myers makes his way to Jamie in Haddonfield, leaving behind him a bloody trail of corpses.

I wasnt very impressed by this sequel (especially after the greatness of Halloween II). The story-line isnt that great and there is a long period of time in the middle of the movie where there are no killings. However, the reason I gave this movie 5 stars insted of only 2 or 3 was because of the twist in the end which I thought was absolutley brilliant and made up for the rest of the movie not being so good, in my opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars The second best Halloween movie! 3 Jun 2004
Format:DVD
No matter how much they all try, no one can seem to make a Halloween sequel which betters the original. Well, whoever made this sure came close to it!
Halloween 4 is a great slasher movie despite the bad reviews. It offers more gore then in any others, and has a much larger body count.
In many of the Halloween movies Myres rarely shows up (e.g. Halloween 5), and when he does, it's only to quickly slit a throat, and then he's back into the shadows...not in this movie however. He shows up frequently, and looks better and freakier then ever before. His killings are much more imaginative, gorier and not at all boring.
But even after all this movie has to offer, if you still dislike this movie, please....just watch the last 30 minutes!
If you enjoy this movie check out: Halloween 1, Halloween 2, Friday 13th, Freddy vs Jason, Nightmare on elm street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original).
