5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Reading 12 Jan 2012
By R T
Format:Paperback
There is a misconception that people who suffer a severe injury recover completely after a short period of convalescence. This very readable book demonstrates that this is not so, and gives a much better understanding of what it is like to live through a stroke and the subsequent recovery.

The honesty and humour with which the author describes what he and his family experienced following his stroke has resulted in an emotional, absorbing and optimistic book that deserves to be widely read for its own sake.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awe-inspiring 23 Jan 2012
By HC
Format:Paperback
This book is an inspirational and thought provoking reminder not to take your physical or psychological health for granted. The author deftly describes his life before and after a stroke in a way which is accessible and, as amusing as it is heart wrenching. I couldn't put it down!

3.0 out of 5 stars Halfway Gone
Interesting in parts & well written but bit confusing as each chapter jumped all over from before the stroke to after, to before etc.
