About the Author

Simon Haynes was born in England and grew up in Spain, where he enjoyed an amazing childhood of camping, motorbikes, air rifles and paper planes. His family moved to Australia when he was 16. Simon has four Hal Spacejock novels, two Hal Junior novels and a dozen short stories in print. He divides his time between writing fiction and computer software, with frequent bike rides to blow away the cobwebs. Simon's goal is to write fifteen Hal books (Spacejock OR Junior!) before someone takes his keyboard away.

I love this series of books. they're not challenging, but they are intelligent, very witty and right-rollocking good adventures. A great antithesis to a stressful week, or when you've just finished a 'big book' and need something to wind down and chuckle on the train with. A bit like Red Dwarf in it's early days, funny irreverant and imaginative. Hal (human) and Clunk (robot) are a genuinely good comedy double act, sharp dialogue and very likeable to boot. Read em...

I was looking for a fun, easy read, and found it with the Spacejock series of books. There are laugh out loud moments as Hal and Clunk lurch from one potential disaster to the next. A good escapist read at the end of a busy day.

Sadly, Harriet has gone - will she return in future? This time it's Clunk's muirky past that might lead to a fortune, but is he the one? Witty, funny and as entertaining as ever. A great read that's difficult to put down once you start.

Well worth the wait. If you are not already a Hal Spacejock fan then don't read this YET, get the first in the series. While every Hal episode feels like the best yet, this really could lay claim to that title. The more complex storyline really keeps you turning pages whilst the humour is as good as ever and had me laughing out loud a lot. Hal 6 soon? Yes please.

After what seems like an age, Hal 5 arrives.
A great read from start to finish, with mountains of action. Fast paced and very funny.
I particularly enjoyed the way small incidences at the begining of the book made a great impact on the ending.(can't say any more it will give things away)
Well worth the money,don't delay. Just buy it.
Now where is that Hal 6...
