The world's first helpful self-help book!,
This review is from: The Hair-pulling Problem: A Complete Guide to Trichotillomania (Hardcover)
THIS BOOK IS DIFFERENT TO MOST BOOKS ON OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE AND RELATED DISORDERS. It combines helpful, un-patronising advice and equally helpful reallife stories. It is written in an easy to read way, without emitting important information, and with a good dose of humour too!I can't stress how strongly I would recommend this book to other hair pullers; if nothing else it made me realise I wasn't alone.

This review is from: The Hair-pulling Problem: A Complete Guide to Trichotillomania (Hardcover)
Having suffered from TTM for 35 years I was pleased to find a book that covered all the feelings and frustration I have been experiencing. The book is structured in a such a way that shows the reader successful ways in overcoming the problem. It is also designed towards the family, especially parents whose children may have the disorder. I wish my mum had this book when I was growing up!A very imformative read, hard to put down.

This review is from: The Hair-pulling Problem: A Complete Guide to Trichotillomania (Hardcover)
This is a thorough and deeply commited book about the problem of hair pulling behavior and about the treatment thereof. The structure of the book could be better, i.e., there are too many chapters and sections with a certain redundancy as a result. A more streamlined exposition of the same material would be most welcome. I can never the less recommend this book to all those interested in this poorly understood, under diagnosed and under treated affliction.
