The owner of a minute kitchen writes ....,

I'm a big person, with a very, very small kitchen. It has two exits, practically no cupboard space, and a tiny floor area. Fitting a bin into a cupboard would have been one solution, but storage space is at a premium so I didn't want to waste any. My last bin (slimline oval) had to stand in front of the least-used door, and really wasn't convenient, as we had to shimmy past it to get into the garden.
This corner bin was worth every penny I paid for it. Not only does it look expensive (quite a challenge for a rubbish bin!), it functions beautifully. The lid is divided in two, and when the pedal is depressed, opens in a nicely-engineered butterfly-wing fashion. I have a thieving dog who hasn't managed to crack it yet, and of course it fits into a tiny space but affords more capacity than its predecessor. The pedal mechanism is semicircular, so it is easy to lob waste into it from either side.
