The Hailo L40 range of stepladders are designed and made in Germany specifically for serious DIY or trade use. The steps are certified to BS EN131 standard, which means that they can hold a maximum load of 150 kg.
The frame of the Hailo L40 stepladders is made from rectangular-section aluminium for maximum strength and minimum weight. For greater strength and safety, each step has a non-slip, ribbed finish and is attached to the frame with rivets, and there are serrated foot caps to reduce slip. The ladders have an extra-high, plastic-topped safety rail which increases safety when you are working at higher levels and gives your legs plenty of room. The safety rail also features a useful, integrated bucket hook, a feature that helps to make painting or cleaning jobs easier and safer. You can even put all of your tools in a bucket to keep your hands free for other tasks.

I'm very happy with this step ladder. It is tall enough to provide a stable platform to reach the high-ceiling of my tenement apartment, with a platform for paint or tools, and a hand support to keep balance. Very light but strong and it folds up neatly into a very compact size for storage. No need to look for anything else.
